Ryan Weathers to Return and Start on Thursday
Ryan Weathers (lat) is scheduled to come off the 60-day injured list and start on Thursday against the division-rival Washington Nationals, according to MLB.com's Christina De Nicola. Weathers has been cleared to rejoin the club's big-league starting rotation after making several minor-league rehab starts and getting through a live bullpen session on Monday. The 25-year-old southpaw only made it up to 68 pitches in his final rehab start and has been on the shelf since June 9 with a strained left lat, so fantasy managers should be tempering expectations for Weathers' first start back despite the juicy matchup against the Nats. The former first-rounder of the San Diego Padres has only made five starts in 2025, but he did have 80 K's with a 3.63 ERA in 16 starts over 86 2/3 innings in his first year in Miami in 2024.
