Chase Briscoe an Underrated Power Play at Bristol
9 months agoAfter an inexplicably subpar 2023, Chase Briscoe seems to have regained much of his speed in 2024 as his sixth-place qualifying run for this weekend's Bristol race gives him his fourth straight top-10 start, the longest such streak of his career. While Briscoe's speed percentile of 39.71 last year was not good, he was significantly faster on short tracks, as he had a speed percentile of 63.36 on that track type and he has become something of a short track specialist. He did win at Bristol in the 2020 Xfinity night race and came close in the 2022 Bristol Dirt Race when he spun Tyler Reddick and himself out on the last lap. With his increase in speed this year and his general strength on short tracks, he is drastically undervalued for this race and is likelier to win than his 100-1 odds on DraftKings would indicate, although he is a very risky DFS play due to his high starting position.
