Charlie Blackmon Reinstated And Leading Off On Saturday
6 months agoThe Colorado Rockies announced on Saturday that they reinstated outfielder Charlie Blackmon (hamstring) from the 10-day injured list and optioned outfielder Sean Bouchard to Triple-A Albuquerque in a corresponding move. Blackman is immediately being put back in the starting lineup on Saturday against the Chicago White Sox as well, serving as the designated hitter and batting leadoff against White Sox right-hander Jonathan Cannon. The 37-year-old veteran will return for the first time since straining his right hamstring on June 18 against the Los Angeles Dodgers following a minimal stay on the IL. Blackmon is no longer an All-Star caliber player and only has three home runs on the year, but he was heating up at the plate before his injury and is hoping to pick up where he left off atop Colorado's lineup on Saturday.
