Carlos Santana Goes Yard Twice Friday Night
1 year agoMilwaukee Brewers first baseman Carlos Santana displayed some power in Friday night's 5-3 win over the visiting Washington Nationals, going 2-for-3 with two solo home runs and a walk while hitting third in the lineup. The Brewers acquired Santana in a midseason trade from the Pittsburgh Pirates, and he's now up to 21 home runs, 75 RBI, six stolen bases and 71 runs scored while hitting .236 (118-for-500) in 133 total games with Pittsburgh and Milwaukee. In 39 games for the Brewers, he's slashing .239/.306/.439 with nine homers and 22 RBI in 170 plate appearances, but he's been heating up in the season's final month. The 37-year-old veteran switch-hitter has gone 14-for-50 (.280) with three homers, a double, seven RBI and 12 runs in 13 starts so far in September.
