Carlos Correa Out Again For Twins
1 year agoMinnesota Twins shortstop Carlos Correa is out of the starting lineup for the second straight game on Thursday against the Chicago White Sox. Kyle Farmer will start at the 6 and bat in the eight-hole against White Sox right-hander Jose Urena. Correa has notably been battling plantar fasciitis in his foot for most of the second half of the season and is hitting just .226 (14-for-62) with two home runs, two doubles, six RBI, 16 strikeouts and nine runs scored in 16 starts since Aug. 26. The 28-year-old Puerto Rican has 18 home runs and 63 RBI in 131 games in his second year with the Twins, but he's also hitting a weak .229 (115-for-503) on the year after batting .291 in 136 games for Minnesota in 2022.
