Robert Suarez 2025 Fantasy Baseball Outlook: Can He Repeat A Terrific 2024 Season In 2025?
San Diego Padres reliever Robert Suarez was a relative unknown as a closer candidate going into the 2024 season. All he did was run away with the closing job for the Padres. Suarez earned nine wins, posted a 2.77 ERA, a 1.05 WHIP with 36 saves and 59 strikeouts in 66 innings. The veteran had only one save in his career before last season. The strikeout rate pales compared to the top five relievers off the board, but Suarez should once again be a good source of saves and ratio controls, even if he has fewer wins and saves. Suarez uses his four-seamer, which is in the 99th percentile for velocity, about 71% of the time. His current ADP is 77, which makes him the tenth reliever off the board. Many fantasy players will express that he could lose opportunities to Jason Adam and Jeremiah Estrada, but both seem more effective in setup roles despite dominant pitch mixes.
