Brandon Sproat Continues Incredible Run With Nine Punchouts On Thursday
5 months agoNew York Mets starting pitching prospect Brandon Sproat posted another quality start on Thursday, where he tossed six ⅔ frames of two-run ball. He allowed three hits and two free passes and struck out nine. This was his second consecutive quality start and the third straight start of logging at least six innings. Sproat was promoted to Double-A Binghamton in May and has looked quite comfortable with a 2.05 ERA, 0.87 EHIP, and 12:52 BB:K ratio across 48 ⅓ frames. Earlier this season, he made his minor league debut at High-A Brooklyn and needed just 25 ⅓ frames to prove he was ready for Double-A. He posted a stellar 1.07 and 1.11 WHIP there. The right-hander is the 97th-best prospect on MLB.com and remains on track to make his major league debut next summer.
