Former Indianapolis Colts offensive tackle Braden Smith is signing with the Houston Texans on Tuesday on a two-year, $25 million deal, sources told Dianna Russini of The Athletic. Smith was drafted in the second round by the Colts in 2018 out of Auburn. The 29-year-old right tackle started 105 of the 107 games he appeared in over his eight seasons with the Colts. Smith has trended down the last two seasons and finished last year on Injured Reserve due to a concussion and neck injury. Still, the Texans are hoping he can be an upgrade at right tackle next season over Trent Brown. Houston's offensive line was a liability last year. Pass protection isn't Smith's specialty, but he should at least be competent as a run-blocker if he can stay healthy in his new digs in Houston.--Keith Hernandez
