3 years agoThe San Diego Padres placed left-hander Blake Snell (illness) on the 10-day injured list on Wednesday with an undisclosed illness. Relief pitcher Miguel Diaz has been recalled from the minors in a corresponding move. Snell was scratched from his scheduled start on Tuesday against the Cincinnati Reds with stomach issues. The 28-year-old southpaw hopefully will only miss the minimum time on the injured list. Snell has been a disappointment to fantasy managers in his first season in San Diego, going 3-3 with a 5.29 ERA, 1.55 WHIP and 90/40 K/BB in his 15 starts (66 1/3 frames). He'll need to be much more efficient and limit the free passes (career-high 5.4 per nine innings) if he's to turn things around in the second half of the season. Despite the disappointing season, the former Cy Young winner needs to be stashed everywhere. Diaz will work in middle relief in the short term and won't have any fantasy value.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
