Baker Mayfield Could Have More On His Plate In 2021
3 years agoThe Cleveland Browns may put more on quarterback Baker Mayfield's plate this year now that he's heading into the second straight season with the same head coach and play-callers for the first time in his career. It could give Mayfield more freedom to change the tempo of the offense when he sees fit. Most of the key offensive pieces around Mayfield are returning as well, so he should be much more comfortable in this offense. The 26-year-old tossed 26 touchdowns and only eight interceptions in 2020 in head coach Kevin Stefanski's system. He should be even more comfortable under center in 2021, but fantasy managers must remember that Cleveland's offense remains heavily committed to the running game, which is what made Mayfield so efficient last year. The fourth-year QB will surely have some QB1 games, but don't draft him as anything more than a low-end QB1/high-end QB2.
