Austin Ekeler Likely To Land On Injured Reserve
Austin Ekeler (hamstring) suffered what is considered a serious hamstring in the Week 4 loss to the Buccaneers. While no firm decision will be made until more tests are done, Ekeler is still likely to land on Injured Reserve with the hope of returning later in the season. At the very least, he'll have to miss three weeks while on IR. As a result, rookie Joshua Kelley should be a priority waiver-wire addition this week, as he should take over lead-back duties moving forward. Justin Jackson would be Kelley's direct backup with Ekeler out. Through the first four games of his rookie season, Kelley has 52 rushing attempts for 174 yards (3.3 yards per carry) and a touchdown while catching all seven of his targets for 84 yards in the passing game.
