Max Muncy Still Not Swinging a Bat
Max Muncy (hand), is doing defensive baseball activities, but still has not been doing any hitting, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports. Muncy has been out of the lineup since July 22, landing on the 10-day injured list with a hairline fracture at the base of the fourth metacarpal. On August 5, Gallegos also reported that Muncy had resumed baseball activities. Seeing him still not pick up a bat two weeks later is not the best sign that his hand is healing from the fracture. Darell Hernaiz, Gio Urshela, and Luis Urias have been seeing more playing time in Muncy's absence, and will likely continue to do so. Muncy has struggled during his first stint in the majors, slashing a poor .215/.258/.385 with nine home runs, 23 RBI, and 17 runs scored. The former first-round pick remains a dynasty stash, but can be dropped in all redraft formats.
