Astros Make Offer To Carlos Correa
3 years agoThe Houston Astros reportedly offered free-agent shortstop Carlos Correa $160 million for five years, according to sources. That would be less than half of what Francisco Lindor got from the New York Mets when Lindor wasn't even a free agent. Unless something changes dramatically, Correa won't be making a return to Houston in 2022. Correa could be in line to receive the largest deal of any free agent this offseason. But if the Astros can't bring him back, they could go with Corey Seager, Trevor Story, Javier Baez or Marcus Semien, who are also all free agents. Another option could be to move third baseman Alex Bregman to the 6. Two of the likeliest teams to pursue Correa are the New York Yankees and Detroit Tigers.
