Anthony Santander Day-To-Day With Knee Contusion
2 years agoBaltimore Orioles outfielder Anthony Santander (knee) left the Grapefruit League game early on Monday after he was hit in the left knee/shin area by a pitch in the sixth inning. Santander was able to get up and walk off the field under his own power, but he will not finish the game. He's officially being listed as day-to-day with a knee contusion. The 28-year-old could miss some spring training games this week, but it doesn't sound like an injury that could jeopardize his readiness for Opening Day in late March. Santander set career-highs in home runs (33), RBI (89) and runs scored (78) in 2022 while slashing .240/.318/.455 in a career-high 152 games. He was much better at home and from the right side of the plate as a switch-hitter. Santander is a very interesting power target in fantasy drafts in an improved Baltimore lineup.
