Anthony Richardson Throws A Pick In First Preseason Game
1 year agoIndianapolis Colts rookie first-round quarterback Anthony Richardson got the start in the team's preseason opener on Saturday against the Buffalo Bills and finished his day 7-for-12 for 67 yards, no touchdowns and an interception. He also carried the ball twice for only seven yards. It was a tough test on the road for the 21-year-old inexperienced signal-caller. Meanwhile, Gardner Minshew went a perfect 6-for-6 for 72 yards in relief of Richardson. This is a QB battle that will likely go the length of the preseason. As long as Richardson doesn't completely fail in the next two games, he figures to be the favorite to start under center for Indy in Week 1, despite his limitations as a passer. Given his elite physical talents and rushing ability, Richardson is in play as a QB2 with upside in fantasy if he's starting right away in 2023.
