Anthony Rendon, Taylor Ward Avoid Serious Injuries
3 years agoLos Angeles Angels manager Joe Maddon said that third baseman Anthony Rendon (hamstring) and outfielder Taylor Ward (finger) might both be unavailable on Monday against the Boston Red Sox, but he doesn't think that either injury is serious enough to require an injured list stint. Rendon left early on Sunday with left hamstring tightness in the sixth inning, while Ward suffered a right index finger injury. Don't expect to have either of them available on Monday, but they should both be in play in weekly leagues. Rendon has been really hot the last week, but overall he's been a disappointment with his .240/.329/.382 slash line with six home runs and 34 RBI in 58 games. Ward is hitting .247 in 53 games for the Halos with seven home runs and 28 RBI.
