Andrew Heaney Roughed Up In Spring Start
4 years agoLos Angeles Angels pitcher Andrew Heaney gave up four runs on four hits in 2 1/3 innings Monday against Brewers. Control was an issue for Heaney, walking three batters, one of those resulting in a run in the first inning. It certainly is fair to cut the 29-year-old some slack as he works on fine-tuning his pitches and ramping up his endurance. But Heaney will be counted on to eat up innings this season as a mid-rotation starter who will post solid strikeout totals but has failed to take the next step. Expect Heaney to start the season in the rotation but will be a fringe-roster selection, at best, in standard upcoming drafts.
