Alex Verdugo Dropped To Sixth In Batting Order
3 years agoBoston Red Sox outfielder Alex Verdugo has been dropped to sixth in the batting order on Monday night against Toronto Blue Jays right-hander Ross Stripling. Verdugo is hitting just .218/.315/.269 with no home runs, four RBI and 16 strikeouts in 89 plate appearances over the last 28 days, so perhaps the move down the order will take some pressure off of him. The left-handed hitter is still batting .272/.338/.414 on the year with nine home runs, 36 RBI and five stolen bases on the year, but his fantasy managers may want to keep him benched until he gets himself out of this rut. Rookie outfielder Jarren Duran is in the two-hole as a result, and he'll be a popular DFS asset with upside against Stripling.
