Alex Kirilloff To Have Shoulder Surgery This Month
1 year agoMinnesota Twins first baseman/outfielder Alex Kirilloff (shoulder) is scheduled to undergo labrum repair surgery on his right shoulder later this month. Kirilloff was replaced on the roster for the American League Division Series against the Houston Astros by Byron Buxton when he had a setback with his shoulder, which he initially injured in July. The 25-year-old left-handed hitter went hitless in 11 plate appearances with two walks and four strikeouts in five postseason games this year. In a career-high 88 games during the regular season in his third MLB campaign, Kirilloff hit .270/.348/.445 with a career-high 11 home runs, 41 RBI and 35 runs scored in 319 trips to the plate. We should have a clearer timetable on how much time he'll miss after his surgery goes down, but it's entirely possible he won't be ready for the start of spring training in 2024.
