Alex Gordon Still Has An OPS Over 1.000
6 years agoKansas City Royals outfielder Alex Gordon smacked a two-run single on Wednesday to give him safe hits in 12 of his last 15 games, and that helped keep his OPS up at 1.007. Gordon, who was nothing but a scrap-heap player for the last two years, has been doing it all at the plate so far. The light-hitting outfielder has three home runs (third most on the team), has driven in 15 runs (leads the team), scored 13 runs (second most on the team), is hitting .339 (highest amongst everyday Royals), and is getting on base at a .427 clip (highest amongst everyday Royals). He's yet to steal a base, but it looks like his new approach at the plate is working. He's not going to win any awards, but he could actually bring some fantasy value if he keeps this up.
