Aledmys Diaz Begins Rehab Assignment
3 years agoHouston Astros infielder Aledmys Diaz (hand) started a minor league rehab assignment in the Gulf Coast League on Sunday and will play there for a few days before moving to Double-A Corpus Christi. The goal will be for Diaz to rejoin the Astros before the end of July after he fractured his left hand on June 3 when he was hit by a pitch. The 30-year-old veteran infielder has hit .278/.341/.435 with three home runs and 18 RBI in 115 at-bats for the Astros this season. He represents great real-life infield depth in Houston, but he doesn't have any real fantasy value unless injuries force him into a regular role among the team's stacked lineup when he returns from his own injury.
