New Jersey Devils goaltender Akira Schmid is expected to start Saturday's Game 3 against the Rangers. Schmid was in the starter's crease Saturday morning, while Vitek Vanecek shared the net with MacKenzie Blackwood. Vanecek has started both of the first two games in the series, but he's struggled massively and it's not a surprise Devils head coach Lindy Ruff will want to try something new in Game 3. Vanecek has given up nine goals in the series with a .827 save percentage. If he indeed starts, Schmid will be getting his first taste of Stanley Cup Playoffs action. He's an inexperienced netminder, but the Swiss goalie did well during the regular season, going 9-5-2, while allowing 2.13 goals per game with a .922 save percentage and one shutout.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
