Adalberto Mondesi On Track For Opening Day
5 years agoKansas City Royals star shortstop Adalberto Mondesi (shoulder) separated his left shoulder on two separate occasions in 2019 and needed shoulder surgery to fix the issue. Mondesi, 24, is now able to perform virtually all baseball activities this spring and began taking swings from the right side this week. The switch-hitter is on track for Opening Day. "I feel great," Mondesi said. "I feel normal." Speed is the biggest part of Mondesi's game, as he stole 43 bags in just 102 games played last year, and he has 75 swipes in the last two seasons. Stolen bases are hard to come by these days, so Mondesi will be an early round target at the 6 despite his shoulder injury in 2019.
