NBA DFS: Top Daily Fantasy Expert Picks for DraftKings, FanDuel (4/4/24)

Bam Adebayo - Miami Heat

Free daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for today's slate on DraftKings and FanDuel. Use Koby's NBA DFS expert picks to building winning DFS lineups on April 4, 2024.

Welcome back, RotoBallers! We are getting down to the nitty-gritty, luckily though we don't have a slate filled with games that are lopsided and have teams that are all still fighting for playoff positions. We have a five-game slate on our hands for this Thursday evening and it will just be a four-game slate on FanDuel. There aren't too many questionable players on this slate but a couple to keep an eye on include; Tyrese Maxey, Joel Embiid, Jamal Murray, Tobias Harris, Josh Hart, and Jonathan Kuminga.

The key to being successful in NBA DFS comes down to making adjustments during the day as injury information becomes available. But it's always really important to have a game plan and the best players and spots circled first before making those adjustments. To keep up with all the latest developments and get access to updated projections, grab an NBA season pass and also gain access to our RotoBaller Premium Discord where @chiefjustice6 is talking about the slate up until lineups lock!

This article will provide you with my daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 4/4/24. Remember to monitor NBA injury news and our awesome NBA injuries report tool, as the slate can completely change before lineups lock at 7:30 p.m. EDT on FanDuel and DraftKings. Good luck, RotoBallers!

Today's NBA DFS Core Picks

Dejounte Murray and Luka Doncic will make for a battle. I don't know that it is possible to fit both of them in but I do think it will be necessary to get one of these guys in so I do recommend mixing them up in your lineups so that you get a bit of each. This game ended up finishing with a 291-point total last time out. I wouldn't be surprised to see this game finishing with over 250 points.

Bam Adebayo is in a great spot and what makes it even better is Joel Embiid may be out for this game. Throughout the last 15 games, the 76ers are giving up the ninth most fantasy points to Opposing centers. I also like the slight discount we get from the top two guys in Joel(if he plays) and Domantas Sabonis(extremely tough matchup). Bam has finished with 40+ fantasy points in nine of his last eleven games.

Kelly Oubre Jr. may not pop up on the optimizer but if Tyrese Maxey is out for this third straight game, I will end up with a lot of Kelly. Tobias and Joel are both questionable as well which only increases his production. He is a bit pricey at 7.8k but I believe he will be a top option when injury news comes out.

  1. Luka Doncic, DAL vs ATL – PG ($12.5K DK; $12.5K FD)
  2. Dejounte Murray, ATL at DAL – PG/SG ($9.8K DK; $10.2K FD)
  3. Bam Adebayo, MIA vs PHI – C ($8.5K DK; $8.7K FD)
  4. Kelly Oubre Jr., PHI at MIA – SG/SF ($6.5K DK; $7.8K FD)

Today's NBA DFS Value Picks

Cam Whitmore came back from his nine-game absence and made an impact immediately, he tallied 30 fantasy points in his first game back. He only had 15 against a tough Minnesota team but he should be good for a solid outing here against the Warriors. I prefer this play on DK much more as he is quite a bit cheaper but don't mind taking a stab at him on FD as well.

Trey Lyles also returned from a nine-game absence and immediately fell into a big role off the bench. His minutes aren't exactly stable but he should be good for a 20-25 minute night. If we get 25+ out of him at his price I'll be satisfied with the pick.

We all know the PPM monster that Russell Westbrook can be, with Kawhi Leonard out I believe this will only increase his minutes. He had 25 minutes in their loss to the Kings on Tuesday and finished with 25 DKFP. He is still relatively cheap too at only 4.8k, if the minutes are there we all know that Russ can fill the stat sheet.

Top Value Plays:

  1. Cam Whitmore, HOU vs GSW - SF ($4.1K DK; $5K FD)
  2. Trey Lyles, SAC at NYK – PF ($3.6K DK; $4.9K FD)
  3. Russell Westbrook, LAC vs DEN - PG ($4.8K DK)

Today's NBA DFS Picks: Point Guard

Miles McBride makes for an interesting play. He is a very mid-tier priced player but his minutes are through the roof. He has been playing almost the entire game over the last eight games. Averaging 40+ minutes, if Josh Hart is out too this should only increase his usage and we should see some higher fantasy scores out of him.

Luka and Russ have both been talked about but another option I like is Terry Rozier who should be one to keep an eye on when you're filling out your lineups. As well as Kyle Lowry if Tyrese Maxey does miss another game.

Top PG Options:

  1. Luka Doncic, DAL vs ATL – PG ($12.5K DK; $12.5K FD)
  2. Miles McBride, NYK vs SAC - PG ($5.9K DK; $6.6K FD)
  3. Russell Westbrook, LAC vs DEN - PG ($4.8K DK)

Today's NBA DFS Picks: Shooting Guard

Paul George is seeing nearly a 4% increase in usage when Kawhi Leonard is off the court. He leads the team when he is off the court and that's a sizeable increase in production. If the Clippers want to stay competitive they are going to need Paul George to come out and be that guy. Denver is a tough matchup so they are going to need him to get the scoring going or this game could fall apart quickly.

Top SG Options:

  1. Dejounte Murray, ATL at DAL – PG/SG ($9.8K DK; $10.2K FD)
  2. Paul George, LAC at DEN – SG/SF ($8.4K DK)
  3. Kelly Oubre Jr., PHI at MIA – SG/SF ($6.5K DK; $7.8K FD)

Today's NBA DFS Picks: Small Forward

Donte DiVincenzo is a great play especially if Josh Hart sits. Donte has been an elite scorer this year who has shown he can also get his peripherals. If Josh is out, that leaves a lot of rebounds and assists on the table which Donte has shown he can grab on top of his scoring. The SF position is fairly weak on this slate and a lot of what I have said in the SG and PF positions can also be used in the SF position as well.

Haywood Highsmith is an interesting option. He has seen quite the uptick in minutes recently finishing with 24+ minutes in seven of his last nine outings. The young wing player has finally earned a consistent spot in a tough rotation. With the 76ers filling up the injury report too, if this one blows out we could see Highsmith get minutes in the blowout resulting in even more fantasy points for him at the cheap price of 5.1k

Top SF Options:

    1. Donte DiVincenzo, NYK vs. SAC - SG/SF ($6.8K DK; $7.7K FD)
    2. Haywood Highsmith, MIA vs PHI - SF ($4K DK; $5.1K FD)
    3. Cam Whitmore, HOU vs GSW - SF ($4.1K DK; $5K FD)

Today's NBA DFS Picks: Power Forward

Juan nailed the Jalen Johnson call yesterday, dropping a whopping 73 fantasy points! The PF position is quite lacking on this slate so it's a good spot if you want to go cheap but if you are paying up at all then, I highly recommend grabbing Jalen Johnson.

I love Jabari Smith Jr. tonight as well. This Rockets/Warriors game is a big one. Jabari is in a great matchup as the Warriors give up the second-most fantasy points to opposing PFs. His usage has popped over the last three games as he's dropped 30+ fantasy points with 48 in their matchup against Dallas.

Andrew Wiggins has been doing well lately and with Kuminga questionable it seems that Wiggins may continue to see an increase in usage as one of the primary score big men in the frontcourt.

Top PF Options:

  1. Jalen Johnson, ATL at DAL – SF/PF ($6.9K DK; $7.6K FD)
  2. Jabari Smith Jr., HOU vs GSW – PF ($6.3K DK; $7.1K FD)
  3. Andrew Wiggins, GSW at HOU – PF ($5.8K DK; $6.5K FD)

Today's NBA DFS Picks: Center

Bam is in a great spot and what makes it even better is Joel Embiid may be out for this game.

I have underrated Clint Capela quite a bit this season and it seems like throughout the last 15 games he has become a critical part on both sides of the court. He has averaged nearly 3 STOCKS a game and has been good for 30+ fantasy points in 13/15 games. Dallas is a bit of a tough matchup but I like that as a pivot to some of the top guys on the slate.

Ivica Zubac has had solid outings against the Nuggets so far this season. And surprisingly the Nuggets are giving up the ninth most fantasy points to opposing Centers over the last 15 games. On top of that Leonard is out for this game which could lead to him being a big focal point of this Clippers frontcourt. This season Zubac has finished with 32, 45, and 27 in three matchups against the Nuggets. He is only 5,800$ on DraftKings which I see being a steal

Top C Options:

  1. Bam Adebayo, MIA vs PHI – C ($8.5K DK; $8.7K FD)
  2. Clint Capela, ATL at DAL – C ($6.5K DK; $7.7K FD)
  3. Ivica Zubac, LAC at DEN – C ($5.8K DK)

Today's Top NBA DFS Game Stacks

  1. Hawks at Mavericks (231.5 total)
  2. Warriors at Rockets (227.5 total)
  3. Nuggets at Clippers (218.0 total) (DK Only)

Today's Top NBA DFS Avoids

  1. I think for now until we see Embiid off any minutes restriction, it is a fade for me at his price. I will take it on the chin if he proves me wrong but 11k is insane with any concerns.
  2. I may get a few pieces here and there but I do find myself staying away for the most from the Knicks game. I see it being low scoring and getting those star players can be a bit risky with how defensive this game could end up being.
