BALLER MOVE: Add in 2QB Team Leagues
ROSTERED: 32% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: Cousins is playing to the level of a borderline-QB2 this season. In an offense that relies on the run quite heavily, Cousins has only attempted 139 passes through five games, while all Vikings players combined have logged 154 rushing attempts over the year. In a thrilling game Sunday, Minny dropped to 2-3 on the season after losing to Seattle with 20 seconds left in the clock in what amounted to be Cousins' second-worst performance of the year. He should rebound a bit, though, making him a playable QB in 2QB-format leagues.
Week 5 wasn't a nightmare like Week 2 (1.5 fantasy points...) for Cousins, but he could only score 14.2 FP on Sunday. He attempted a season-high 39 passes, completed 27 of them (also the most for him in 2020), and reached 249 passing yards to go with a couple of TDs against one interception.
Cousins is never going to put on explosive games because his upside is cut by Minnesota's approach to the game, but he should always finish in that 15-to-20 FP clip with chances at some 25-FP game in the right matchup/gamescript.
Seattle doesn't have the greatest defense (in fact, it ranks as the second-worst in fantasy points allowed to QBs) yet Cousins couldn't to a lot against the Seahawks. He will have another great matchup in W6, as Minny faces a coach-less Atlanta that ranks dead-last against QBs, and then goes on a bye week. If only for a single game, add and start Cousins in 2QB leagues, and if you feel lucky give him a chance in one-QB leagues if you happen to be streaming the position.
