Kevon Looney (C, GSW) - Fantasy Basketball Waiver Wire Pickups for Week 20

Kevon Looney is worth considering as a fantasy basketball waiver wire pickup heading into Week 20 of the 2022-23 NBA season.

ANALYSIS: The Golden Stae Warriors (the reigning champions, just in case you had forgotten) are in a goddam funk of a season, aren't they? They started it without the freakish Two-Timeline plan in their brain, ended up trading James Wiseman away for nothing (for now at least), and they are at very serious risk of missing the postseason entirely if they fall to the play-in portion of the standings and can't put together a couple of nice outings.

Kevon Looney, on the other hand, is his usual low-maintenance self. Looney is basically the Joel Anthony of the 2020s. He's the odd man out of the Warriors lore, but he's always present and providing and helping his teammates with nightly efforts.

Looney went through a rough off-the-pine spell that lasted a couple of weeks at the end of January because Steve Kerr realized that Looney is, believe it or not, a very valuable asset. Looney, in fact, is even better in fantasy basketball as he's now a near-lock to reach 30+ DKFP any given day, as he's been doing for three weeks.

Kevon Looney has reached double-digit points and/or rebounds in all of his last 10 games played counting from Feb. 11 on and through Friday's matchup against New Orleans. He's had five dub-dubs in that span while missing on that feat by just three and two rebounds in two of his last three games played.

This man won't stretch the floor any day because 1) he doesn't need to consider he plays for the Dubs and 2) he's what he is and he won't change for now (read: future years) at least. The points and the rebounds are extraordinary, though, the shooting percentages are always sky-high, and he is part of such a loaded squad that he often gets his 2.5+ dimes on a nightly basis.
