BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues
ROSTERED IN: 4% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: We're at a point in the season in which we can change our perception of a player just because he had a single great game. That was K.J. Osborn's case last Saturday when he finished the matchup against Indy with a gaudy 31.7 PPR point score, accounting for more than 27% of his total PPR points through the whole 2022 season.
Now, that said, Osborn had already played to top-24-WR levels a couple of weeks ago when he scored 14.8 PPR points at Detroit, going 5-for-5 on catches for 38 yards and one TD. He more than doubled that outcome last Saturday, though, catching 10 (!) of 16 targets for a clear season-high 157 yards and another TD on the day.
Osborn, while not targeted more than five times often, has seen 5+ targets in back-to-back weeks and seven times in 14 games this season. He's caught at least one pass in 13 of his 14 games in 2022, and in matches in which he's seen 5+ targets, he's always hauled in 2+ receptions.
Justin Jefferson left the field twice on Saturday, though he returned quickly after those exits. There are no reports out there saying he will miss time, but even then, he should be monitored by fantasy GMs just in case news pops up regarding his availability.
Whether Jefferson is available or not going forward, Osborn should retain a WR3 role in the Vikings' offense. He is an obvious flier not worth playing in shallow leagues and DFS contests because of the risks involved, but an extraordinary late-season addition for those hurting for WR help going into the playoffs.
