BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues
ROSTERED IN: 22% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: It took Juwan Johnson six weeks to finally hit lightspeed but he arrived for good back in Week 7 and barring a couple of bumps in the road, he's been the absolute-best tight end of the second and third parts of the season.
Johnson didn't play in Week 13 (the Saints were on a bye in Week 14), so Sunday marked Johnson's return to the field in nearly three weeks and all he did was put up his biggest fantasy tally of the season to the tune of 22.7 PPR points against Atlanta.
From the start of the year to Week 6 (included), JJ had scored a total of 31.0 PPR points. He scored 20.2 in Week 7, then had a dubious performance that brought everyone down to earth (3.4 in Week 8), then he went wild for three consecutive weeks racking up top-eight, top-four, and top-six finishes at the position after that.
Then, of course, a goose egg in Week 12 calmed the waters once more (it must be said JJ only played 27 snaps, or 47% of the Saints' total in that game, both season-low figures). Then, pre-Christmas Sunday arrived and Johnson is now coming off a season-high 22.7 PPR to the tune of catching four passes, seeing six targets, racking up 67 yards... and scoring two TDs on the Falcons' foreheads.
Johnson has now scored seven touchdowns in his last seven games with just two games without hitting paydirt. If you have Johnson and you're not winning in fantasy football, I don't know how to explain that. If you don't have Johnson and you want to win in fantasy football, adding Johnson is a very good way to start.
