Should I start Jonathan Taylor, Rachaad White, Gus Edwards for Week 13? Fantasy football start em, sit em picks and recommendations for the 2024 NFL season.
Running back is the most important position to hit on in the draft in all fantasy football formats. That's been even more true this season due to the outlandish number of injuries to key wide receivers this season.
There are plenty of RBs that go on serious cold streaks or just don't look good for long stretches, though. Some of them are on a ton of fantasy football rosters, meaning many managers must consider starting them.
Let's dive into three such players and whether they should be put into your starting lineups.
Should I Start Jonathan Taylor for Fantasy Football?
Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor was one of the first players taken off the board in 2024 fantasy football drafts. Unfortunately, he's lately been one of the last players you want to have on your roster. He's somehow scored just 7.0 and 3.5 PPR fantasy points in his last two games.

No, he didn't become trash overnight. Many people in the fantasy football space purely look at fantasy points scored and based their opinions of players only on that. That's a mistake. The Colts' offensive line has been decimated by injuries. Regardless, you should start Taylor unless you have clear better options (most rosters don't) because he has great upside if the blocking improves.
It could be a tough ride ahead for a few games, though.

Should I Start Rachaad White for Fantasy Football?
Yes. Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Rachaad White will face the Carolina Panthers run defense in Week 13. They're the worst team in the league at stopping opposing running backs from scoring fantasy points. White's had a nice touchdown streak the past few games, and that could easily continue.

He's still good in pass-protection, still a good receiving back, and is on a great offense. There should be plenty of opportunities for him to score fantasy points.

Should I Start Gus Edwards for Fantasy Football?
In deeper leagues, yes. But outside of non-PPR leagues, Los Angeles Chargers running back Gus Edwards has very little receiving upside, which hurts his value. PPR points are huge in their respective leagues, but he isn't a pass-catcher.

That's not saying he couldn't be, just that he hasn't been. The team will likely have rookie RB Kimani Vidal active. Edwards is worth starting in deep and non-PPR leagues because the lead back, J.K. Dobbins (knee) is officially "Out" for Week 13. But don't expect many points unless he gets a rushing touchdown.
