Jaron Brown (WR, SEA) - Week 8 Waiver Wire Pickups

BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues

OWNED IN: 1% of Leagues

ANALYSIS: One of my favorite breakout candidates for the 2019 fantasy football season was Tyler Lockett of the Seattle Seahawks. After drafting DK Metcalf and losing Doug Baldwin to retirement, the WR2 role for the Seahwawks appeared to be up for grabs with Metcalf being the favorite to take that spot. Jaron Brown has quietly been making a name for himself over the past few weeks.

Brown has averaged 41 yards per game over the past five weeks, after not seeing a target in the first two weeks despite being active and playing a decent amount of offensive snaps. He saw his most offensive snaps on the year in Week 1 with 77%, and hasn’t seen more since then. Metcalf has shown he’ll be a boom or bust type of player and won’t be someone you can rely on week in and week out. Brown scored his only two touchdowns of the season in Week 6 against the Browns and last week against the Ravens he had his most yards of the season with 60. He’s only an option in deeper formats, but if Brown continues to carve a bigger role on this offense, he could be someone you look at as a Flex during bye weeks moving forward.
