BALLER MOVE: Start in 10+ Team Leagues
POSITIONAL VALUE: TE1
ANALYSIS: Dallas Cowboys tight end Jake Ferguson was a popular sleeper candidate entering the year. The Cowboys lost Dalton Schultz in free agency, leaving the second-year player to take over as the starter. However, few expected the former Wisconsin star to be a plug-and-play TE1 this season.
Ferguson is the TE9 for the year, averaging 8.6 half-point PPR fantasy points per game. He has 36 receptions on 50 targets for 354 receiving yards and four touchdowns. More importantly, the second-year tight end has been Dak Prescott’s favorite target not named CeeDee Lamb.
The young tight end scored more than 8.6 fantasy points only once before Dallas’ Week 7 bye. However, he has been on fire lately. Over the past three weeks, Ferguson has been the TE3, averaging 14 fantasy points per game and scoring double digits in every contest. Last week, he scored 10.6 fantasy points in the win over the New York Giants.
Meanwhile, Ferguson has a poor matchup in Week 11. The Carolina Panthers have held tight ends to 7.3 fantasy points per game, the 10th-fewest in the NFL. They haven’t given up a receiving touchdown to a tight end since Week 5. Yet, Ferguson is startable in 10-team or larger leagues despite the matchup.
