Jack Doyle is a potential fantasy football Tight End draft sleeper for the 2020 NFL season. Target him is a mid round TE value pick in fantasy drafts.
BALLER MOVE: Target Around ~135 Overall
CURRENT ADP: 160+
ANALYSIS: Indianapolis Colts tight end Jack Doyle is in the best situation he has ever been in. He is the undisputed TE1 on the Colts' depth chart, and the addition of Philip Rivers at quarterback means he will be targeted often on third downs and in the red zone. Rivers has always looked to his tight end to move the chains and bail him out of trouble, and Doyle will be no different.
The only challenge to the 6’6” chain-mover for fantasy production at tight end was the newly signed Trey Burton, but he was recently placed on IR. Doyle has shown that he has the ability to gain separation at the top of his routes and to be in the right place at the right time for his quarterback. However, the former Western Kentucky Hilltoper has always had something in his way which prevented him from reaching his full potential.
In 2018, the Colts tight end suffered from a couple of injuries which quickly led to Eric Ebron taking over as the go-to tight end. Last year, he played 16 games, but suffered from inconsistent quarterback play from Jacoby Brissett, and finished with a mediocre stat line of 43 receptions for 448 yards and four touchdowns.
Finally, in 2020, Doyle has no one in his way and a top-tier quarterback to feed him the ball. He is a tremendous value right now with an ADP of TE16, and he could provide fantasy owners with a consistent 10-point floor in PPR leagues at an extremely volatile position. If fantasy owners miss out on one of the top-tier tight ends, Rivers’ new security blanket may be the perfect guy to save their season at the end of their draft.
