Is J.K. Dobbins Out for the Season? Injury Update on Coming Back for Fantasy Football (Week 15)

JK Dobbins - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, NFL Injury News

Is J.K. Dobbins out for the season? When is J.K. Dobbins coming back? The latest J.K. Dobbins injury update and fantasy football outlook heading into Week 15 of 2025.

Denver Broncos running back J.K. Dobbins (foot) has missed the last four weeks after going down with an injury against Las Vegas in Week 10.

The fantasy football playoffs have now arrived. Fantasy managers naturally want to know if Dobbins will return this year as they prepare for the postseason.

Will Dobbins play again this season? Should fantasy managers continue to roster him? Let's take a look.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy football rankings for 2025:

Is J.K. Dobbins Out for the 2025 Season?

On Thursday Night Football in Week 10, Dobbins suffered a foot injury on a hip-drop tackle. The injury required surgery, and Dobbins was placed on injured reserve as a result. The initial reports claimed that Dobbins was likely out for the rest of the season.

On November 26, nearly three weeks after Dobbins was injured, Broncos head coach Sean Payton gave more information on the RB's status. According to Parker Gabriel of The Denver Post, Payton suggested Dobbins could return at some point in the playoffs if the Broncos make a run. However, the fantasy football season would be over by that point.

No updates have been given since then that have shortened the projected timeline. Thus, Dobbins is not valuable to fantasy managers in redraft formats and can be safely dropped.

J.K. Dobbins 2025 Fantasy Football Outlook

Given that Dobbins will not be ready to return during the regular season, he should not be rostered in fantasy football. Managers with Dobbins stashed should drop him for a replacement, and anyone who had been eyeing Dobbins on waivers must look elsewhere. Alternatives to Dobbins may include players like Devin Neal, Kyle Monangai, and Bam Knight.

A running back that managers should consider stashing instead of Dobbins is Arizona's Trey Benson. Benson has a realistic chance of returning this season, although his outlook remains hazy. If he does come back, he should retake his position atop Arizona's backfield. Benson certainly would be a better use of an IR slot than Dobbins.

With Dobbins out, rookie RJ Harvey will serve as Denver's RB1. Harvey is coming off a strong two-game stretch in which he totaled 43.2 PPR points. He will be a quality starter for fantasy managers moving forward.

Other backs who will factor into Denver's backfield are Jaleel McLaughlin and Tyler Badie. Both had five touches on Sunday against the Raiders compared to Harvey's 23.
