BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team PPR Leagues
ROSTERED: 10% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: Against a feared defense this past Sunday, Hunter Renfrow had his best game of the season in fantasy terms. It was also close to becoming his best game ever, as Renfrow finished with 20.4 PPR points and he could only beat that mark two times in 2019 (23.7 and 22.2 to close last season). What? As you read it. The Patriots focused on top-pass catcher TE Darren Waller, limited him all day long, and forgot about Renfrow and the rest of Las Vegas' offensive players opening the door for great performances coming from them.
In only 39 snaps compared to Waller's team-leading 56, Renfrow scored seven times (!) Waller's fantasy points last Sunday. Renfrow's 20.4 PPR points led the team by far, followed by TE Foster Moreau's 10.5. Of course, Hunter Renfrow was the main target on the day (9), caught 6 passes for 84 yards, and scored one of the two touchdowns of the Raiders in Week 3.
This marked Renfrow's first game with more than 2 targets, with QB Derek Carr finally looking his way after just passing the ball to Waller in weeks 1 and 2. Obviously, this kind of volume and "openness" won't be there weekly for Renfrow. That being said, he was good to finish 2019 and although he's had a little bit of a rough start in 2020 (4.1 and 6.7 PPR points in W1-W2) he should still be the WR3 at the very least for Las Vegas. Bryan Edwards and Rico Gafford left Sunday's game early injured, and Henry Ruggs was out entirely. That also bodes well for Renfrow's opportunities going forward.
