BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team PPR Leagues
ROSTERED: 0% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: Go and take a look at Greg Ward's fantasy points through the second week of the season. Nothing to call home about, right? Ward finished W1 as the 146th-best player overall (8.1 PPR points) and dropped all the way to the 271st spot in W2 (1.5). Then came W3, an unstoppable flurry of Eagle-injuries, and a booming game by a Greg Ward that just stumbled upon it without even wanting to.
Jalen Reagor didn't suit up, same as Alshon Jeffery. Then, during Sunday's game, TE Dallas Goedert and WR DeSean Jackson had to leave the field early, opening the door to Ward to explode. Ward was on the field for 76 (!) snaps, only bested by Zach Ertz (84) and John Hightower (78). Ward was targeted a team-high 11 times and hauled in 8 passes for 72 yards and a touchdown, the only one by another player than QB Carson Wentz. Ward finished with a terrific 20.6 PPR points good for the 28th-best overall fantasy player and WR13 on the week.
The Eagles are in the need of offensive weapons or just warm bodies for what it's worth. Ward presence on the field alone was encouraging, but watching him lead the team in targets, receptions, and yards was just too good to pass on him. Ward is virtually unrostered in every league, but he's all of a sudden a WR2/3 in Philadelphia and at least a flex play in the swallowest of leagues (favor him in PPR formats given his high volume and catch rate).
