BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team PPR Leagues
ROSTERED: 0% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: If there is something you didn't expect to do today, reading about Gabriel Davis as a potential waiver wire pickup must be one of them. With John Brown exiting Sunday's contest early thanks to a calf injury, it was Davis who benefited the most given his low-key expectations and the Bills receiver didn't upset in his second-highest snaps (46) among Buffalo's wideouts.
Davis is pretty much an unknown player, so I don't blame you if this is the first time you hear his name. He's played in all three Buffalo's games this season, but in the first two weeks combined he was only targeted 3 times, caught all of those passes, and got 22 yards and a touchdown. Not bad, but paltry volume numbers that didn't look very good. This past weekend, though, Davis was targeted 4 times and, once more, he hauled in those 4 passes for another 100% catch rate racking up 81 yards while at it. Davis finished the game with 12.1 PPR points, almost on par with stud-receiver Stefon Diggs (14.9).
With Brown nurturing a calf injury and potentially missing time, there is a chance Davis becomes the WR3 of the Bills at least for a week. Keep an eye on the injury reports and the evolution of Brown's status throughout the week. That being said, the volume is still low, which makes Davis a risky play only reasonable to put in a very deep league lineup, favoring PPR competitions given his otherworldly 100% catch rate so far this year on 7 targets.
