BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues
ROSTERED: 17% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: It takes a man (or a fool, depending on you look at it) to recommend a New York Jets player, but here we are. The Jets are probably the worst team in the NFL, they're 0-3, and they have and will be trailing in the scoreboard forever and ever, which means the running plays will be limited. That being said, though, if there is a week to squeeze Frank Gore that's this one.
RB1 Le'Veon Bell will be eligible to come back from IR in Week 5, so this is the last chance to extract something from Gore. The veteran has been thrust into the leading role during the past two weeks carrying the ball 21 and 15 times with no other rusher topping 7 attempts. Gore has produced 63 and 57 yards on the ground in those two games, and although his pass-catching upside is null, he's still the Jets no. 1 tailback.
The fantasy appeal isn't great, I know, but at least you'll get some volume and the higher the opportunities, the higher the chances he ends hitting. Gore has faced the best and fifth-best defenses against RBs in fantasy points allowed to the position, and Denver (7th-best) comes next. He should be in for another 60+ rushing-yard game and he'll hopefully get into the endzone carrying the rock. Nothing crazy to think about considering how middling QB Sam Darnold passing has been so far...
Gore is a good FLEX option for needy GMs in deeper leagues, but you'll have to trust the Jets as a whole even against another 0-3 team in the Broncos. Make sure to drop Gore after the end of this week's game, though, as he'll lose all fantasy relevancy with Bell back.
