Fantasy Baseball Catcher Waiver Wire Pickups for Week 26 (2024)

Rotoballer Catcher Waiver Wire

Dawn Tepper's fantasy baseball waiver-wire pickups for catchers in Week 26 of the 2024 MLB season. Consider adding and streaming these free-agent hitters.

Welcome, RotoBallers, to my catchers' fantasy baseball waiver wire pickups for Week 26 of the 2024 MLB season. This week, we'll examine catchers such as Travis d'Arnaud, Freddy Fermin, and Elias Diaz.

These catchers have been hitting the ball well lately and are great pickups as we look ahead to next week. Let's dive in and discuss why fantasy managers should pick up d'Arnaud, Fermin, and Diaz this weekend.

All three catchers are rostered in under 40% of Yahoo! leagues. If you have any waiver-wire questions about the catcher position, don't hesitate to contact me on X (@winesportstalk).

Fantasy Baseball Catcher Waiver Wire Adds

Travis d'Arnaud, Atlanta Braves (12% Rostered)

d'Arnaud is officially back from paternity leave, and next week, he and the Braves have one of the best pitcher/hitter matchups in the league. The righty catcher is slashing a respectable .245/.306/.456 this season.

While he has been in a bit of a slump since slashing .370/.420/.652 in July, in my experience, players in any sport coming back from paternity leave tend to come back very strong!

With Atlanta dealing with several injuries, d'Arnaud has emerged as one of the team's key hitters and has batted second or fifth in the lineup in two of his last three starts.

Freddy Fermin, Kansas City Royals (8% Rostered)

He's back! The Royals play all six games next week at home, where the right-handed catcher is slashing .306/.340/.418. Kansas City is facing three lefties and three righties next week, and against them, Fermin is hitting .313/.387/.404 and .272/.307/.380, respectively.

Following up his strong finish from last season, Fermin will look to help propel the Royals into the playoffs.

Elias Diaz, San Diego Padres (7% Rostered)

Diaz has spent just four games with the Padres after being released by the Rockies in late August, but for those games, he's slashing .250/.250/.500. The Padres have great pitcher/hitter matchups next week and all of San Diego's games next week are at home.

With Luis Campusano sent down to Triple-A last Wednesday, the Padres will have more time to see how Diaz performs behind the plate and whether he can help them advance toward the postseason.
