FanDuel, DraftKings NHL DFS Lineup Picks (4/7/18): Daily Fantasy Hockey Advice

We have a MASSIVE 14 game slate, and there are good options on the board. Stacking will be big tonight, so look for some value where you can, and then load up on the star skaters where you can afford them.

Vegas lines are big when it comes to picking games to target, and that's a good place to start for goalies. When it comes to skaters, goal totals is another main place to start. Usually, 5.5 goals are average, so targets game at six, and can look for goalies in games with a total of five.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy hockey lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 4/7/18. The lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to hit me up on Twitter @DFS_Tom. Let's get to it, shall we?

DFS Forwards to Consider

Nathan MacKinnon - C, COL vs STL (DK - $7,700, FD - $8,400)

The Avalanche are in a spot where they can win and make the playoffs as the final wild-card spot. I’ve been all over the Avalanche the second half of the season and no time to stop now since they NEED to win. Mackinnon is on the first forward line and first power-play unit, who brings multi-point upside almost every night. He takes over three shots per game, and they will lean on their best player to carry them to the playoffs. He has three points in his last four games, but his goal scoring has slowed down a bit, still confident he can get it going in this spot.

Evgenii Dadonov - W, FLA vs BUF (DK - $6,400, FD - $6,100)

This is it for the Panthers, they win their final two games, and they can be tied for the final playoff spot. They will also need the Flyers to lose their game to the Rangers for them to have a chance. The second part is out of their control, so they have to worry about winning their game against the Sabres, who are the worst team in the league and giving up over three goals per game. If you can't get it done against this team, then they shouldn't be in the playoffs. He has a three-game point streak going, on the top forward line and the top power-play unit.

DFS Defenders to Consider

Drew Doughty - D, LA vs DAL (DK - $5,700. FD - $5,700)

Doughty is one of the most consistent players for DFS, and no different as we are at the end of the season. He has five points over his last four games and is still playing over 25 minutes per game. Top defensive pairing and top power-play roles for him always put him in a good spot to produce points. Doughty takes over two shots per game, along with blocking about 1.5 shots per game, giving him multiple ways for him to reach value.

Alexander Edler - D, VAN @ EDM (DK - $5,200, FD - $5,400)

Despite the season being over the Canucks for some time now, Edler is still out there giving it his all. He has four points in his last three games, takes over two shots per game, and blocks over two shots per game. He is up against the Oilers, who not only giving up over three goals per game, but they are alos giving up so many shots. This should put the Canucks offense in a good spot to get some easy scoring chances, hopeuflly leading to some goals.

DFS Goalies to Consider

Antti Raanta - G, ARI vs ANH (DK - $7,400, FD - $8,000)

Raanta just signed a nice three-year $12 million dollar contract extension yesterday, so plenty of motivation for him to come away with the win and end the season on a high note. Raanta and the Coyotes are actually playing super well right now, as he has won six straight games, and only given up seven goals over that span. He sees a good amount of shots per game, so the chances for points can rack up quickly, and this might be the hot take of the day for me, but I'm saying he is coming away with the win tonight.
