FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Lineup Picks (6/9/16): MLB DFS Advice

We've got nine games on the schedule today. All in all, not a bad number of options to choose from for a get-away day. Two of the games are in the afternoon, so I'll focus my picks on the FanDuel main slate that starts at 7:05 EDT. There aren't any true aces on the bump today, leaving with us with quite a few options for stacking.

If you like weighing Vegas lines into your decision making, consider the following games which have the highest over/unders listed for the night: Cardinals at Reds (9.5), Angels at Yankees (9), Nationals at White Sox (9), Marlins at Twins (9.5) and Pirates at Rockies (11.5). As far as park factors go, the hitters with the highest positive park factors are the Pirates and Rockies, Yankees and Angels left-handed batters and the Cardinals and Reds right-handed batters.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball MLB lineup picks for FanDuel on 6/9/16. The DFS lineup picks will range from high-priced to low-priced options and identify options who will out-perform their expectations, including sleepers and value plays on FanDuel.

DFS Lineup Stacks to Target for FanDuel

Cincinnati Reds against Adam Wainright

It felt a little strange typing that headline, seeing as for the past few years, I'd normally be writing about how you should go with Waino in your cash games, but here we are. Wainwright isn't the pitcher he used to be and thus far in 2016, he's getting hammered by right-handed batters. That spells bad news for Wainwright and a Reds stack for the likes of you and me. He's allowed a .359 wOBA and .511 slugging percentage to right-handed batters this season, along with 1.36 HR/9. My favorite Reds targets today Adam Duvall and Zack Cozart on the right side, and Jay Bruce and Joey Votto profile nicely as well.

Also Consider: Cardinals right-handed batters versus Brandon Finnegan and the Mets against Jimmy Nelson

DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider for FanDuel

The pitching options today leave a lot to be desired to say the least. Personally, I think it's a day best suited for tournament play thanks to all the uncertainty and lack of front-end starters, but that's just me.

Nate Karns (SP, SEA) - 8,200

For Karns this season, his performances have essentially been all or nothing. I've had strong GPP nights with him and others that were over - for all intents and purposes - by the end of the second inning. If you're riding with Nate, buckle up. What he does have going for him today is that he faces an offense that isn't anything special against right-handed pitching, is pitching at home in pitcher friendly Seattle, and he does possess the highest K/9 of the slate at 9.4. For a tournament option on a short Thursday schedule, you could do much worse than Karns.

Josh Tomlin (SP, CLE) - $8,600

Although he's prone to a blow up here and there, I think Tomlin should be one of the top options you consider today in tournament formats. He's pitching in an extremely pitcher friendly park in Seattle, faces an average offense (Mariners .266 batting average against RHP this season), and, as always, he possesses big strikeout upside. The home runs can be a concern, but the big park should lend a hand in that category and his control has been better this season, as marked by his WHIP of under one. His 7.2 K/9 isn't great, but it is the third highest figure of the day.

Also Consider: Gio Gonzalez (SP, WAS) - $9,000

DFS Infielders to Consider for FanDuel

Catcher (C)

Dioner Navarro (C, CWS) - $2,400

Due to his price and what I expect his popularity to be, I'm going to fade Jonathan Lucroy in tournaments in favor of Navarro. Navarro is a specialist against left-handed pitching and is playing at home in US Cellular - a nice park for power hitters. His splits this season have been strong, too, as marked by his .357 wOBA and .233 ISO.

First Base (1B)

Chris Parmelee (1B, NYY) - $2,000

Is he likely to hit two home runs again tonight? Perhaps not, but at the price minimum, I'll gladly take the hot bat and his impressive splits to go along with it. Parmelee also has the best positive park factors (outside of Coors) working in his favor tonight and Vegas is projecting another high score in this contest.

Also Consider: Joey Votto (1B, CIN) - $3,400

Second Base (2B)

Robinson Cano (2B, SEA) - $3,600

The only thing Cano doesn't have working in his favor tonight are park factors, and at this price, I'd say he's a steal. He's been owning right-handed pitching this season with incredibly impressive splits - .416 wOBA and .271 ISO.

Shortstop (SS)

Zack Cozart (SS, CIN) - $3,500

Like as the case with Cano, we're getting a very adept home run threat here at a very moderate price. Cozart, unlike Cano, is playing in an excellent park for right-handed hitters tonight. His splits have been very impressive, too, with his .366 wOBA and .234 ISO.

Third Base (3B)

Todd Frazier (3B, CHW) - $3,900

Frazier has been a power monster against southpaws this season and I'm going to ride with him today against Gio Gonzalez in home-run-friendly US Cellular. Frazier's splits are the most impressive of the slate among third baseman as he owns a .370 wOBA and .354 ISO.

DFS Outfielders to Consider for FanDuel

Adam Duvall (OF, CIN) - $3,600

As I called him out in my stack at the top of the article, Duvall is one of my favorite options on this Thursday slate. He has park factors working in his favor, Wainwright has been hammered by right-handed hitting, and his splits are very impressive. He's also quite a bargain at this price.

Curtis Granderson (OF, NYM) - $3,300

Somewhat quietly, Granderson has been producing at a high clip against right-handed pitching this season. His splits - .380 wOBA and .252 ISO certainly don't look like the numbers of a player at the end of his career.

Yoenis Cespedes (OF, NYM) - $3,200

Ice cold or not, this is still too low a salary price for a player of Cespedes' caliber facing a home-run prone pitcher in an incredibly friendly park to batters. Despite the slump, his numbers are still some of the best among outfielders playing today. For the season, his splits against right-handed pitching - .379 wOBA and .279 ISO - are strong.
