DraftKings Main CFB DFS Lineup Picks: Daily College Fantasy Football (9/28/24)

Mike's DraftKings daily fantasy college football lineup picks for Saturday's Main Slate (9/28/24). His CFB DFS lineup picks and DFS sleepers will help you win.

We have another baker's dozen of games on the main slate and we have seen bigger tournaments for college football this year. After a light nooner last week, it's better this week. Kentucky starts in Oxford. BYU heads to Waco to take on Baylor in search of their first Big 12 (14) win. Oklahoma State heads to the Little Apple to take on the Wildcats. Maryland heads to Bloomington to take on Indiana.

Minnesota is in the Big House to take on Michigan. Nebraska is in West Lafayette to finish off the nooners. Arkansas opens the afternoon against the Aggie at Jerry World. Oklahoma is at Jordan Hare, recruiting receivers on the way. TCU heads to KC to take on Kansas. Colorado is in Orlando for a wet game at the Bounce House. Louisville heads to South Bend to take on the Irish. Wisconsin heads to L.A. to take on USC.

We end the slate in Austin with Mississippi State in town. In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy college football lineup picks for DraftKings on 9/28/24, locking at noon EDT. I’ll provide multiple player suggestions for players at quarterback, running back, and wide receiver, aiming to highlight one option at the high, middle, and lower end of the salary scale. Good luck, RotoBallers.

DraftKings CFB DFS Picks - Quarterbacks

Shedeur Sanders, Colorado ($9.4K)

Central Florida's defense is better than last year, but what can we really learn from them playing New Hampshire, Sam Houston, and TCU? Josh Hoover lit them up for 402 passing yards last week. Shedeur could be in for another monster with the loaded receiver room that he has to throw to.

Josh Hoover, TCU ($8.5K)

Hoover has thrown for over 350 yards in three of the four games. The fourth game was a blowout win over Long Island. This game should not be a blowout, meaning Hoover is nearly a lock for another 350. He has the best floor on the slate.

Kurtis Rourke, Indiana ($7.5K)

We are seeing a different Kurtis Rourke this year. Our introduction to him has come from MACtion over the last couple of years playing for Ohio. He has flourished at Indiana. His accuracy has improved (better receivers certainly don't hurt), and he hasn't turned the ball over in four games for the Hoosiers.

Rourke isn't running as much, but he still has two rushing touchdowns with his eight scores through the air. We don't know a lot about the quality of competition for the Hoosiers, but the Maryland defense, while a ball-hawking unit (six interceptions), allowed 363 passing yards to Michigan State and 247 to Virginia. We could see another nice game out of Rourke.

Dylan Raiola, Nebraska ($6.4K)

Purdue has only allowed 370 passing yards in three games, but opponents have only thrown 54 passes in those three games. A dreadful run defense (703 combined rushing yards allowed to Oregon State and Notre Dame) has much to do with this. Nebraska has committed to balancing the offense this year and I don't think that changes. They want Raiola to play his entire college career here. They'll let him get his chances.

Also consider: Arch Manning, Texas ($9K); Michael Hawkins Jr., Oklahoma ($7.9K); Jalon Daniels, Kansas ($7.5K); Marcel Reed, Texas A&M ($7K)

DraftKings CFB DFS Picks - Running Backs

RJ Harvey, Central Florida ($8.9K)

Most ignored Harvey because he has been part of a split backfield for his entire career. His 29 carries against TCU suggest that may not be the case anymore. UCF has only played in three games so far. Harvey has 448 rushing yards and nine total touchdowns. He could break the slate against Colorado.

Jaydon Blue, Texas ($7.4K)

Blue toted the rock 25 times in the blowout win over Monroe. I guess he's fine, huh? This promises to be another blowout and considering Blue's workload last weekend, he should be in for another big game. Mississippi State is allowing 232 rushing yards per game so far.

Devin Neal, Kansas ($6.6K)

RJ Harvey went nuts on the TCU defense. With as many mistakes as Jalon Daniels is making right now, I would think Kansas wants to run the ball as much as possible. Neal has four straight 100-yard games to open the season and had a season-high 27 carries last week. I would expect another heavy workload here.

Dante Dowdell, Nebraska ($5.6K)

When the going got tough against Illinois, the tough got 20 carries in a crowded backfield. Dowdell appears to have the RB1 locked up instead of the co-starter designation. Nebraska gets a reprieve against a dreadful Purdue run defense today. If Dowdell gets 20 carries, he might match his DFS point total on the season...

Also consider: DJ Giddens, Kansas State ($8.5K); Kalel Mullings, Michigan ($7.2K); Woody Marks, USC ($7K); Daniel Hishaw Jr., Kansas ($4.8K);

DraftKings CFB DFS Picks - Wide Receivers

Travis Hunter, Colorado ($10.1K)

Hunter's low mark on the season is seven receptions in a game. His lowest DraftKings point total is 23 points. You're definitely getting your money's worth with Hunter. He's more involved in the game than any other player in the country.

Tai Felton, Maryland ($7.7K)

Everything that I said about Hunter goes double for Felton...except Felton has at least 29 DraftKings points in every game. I know the Indiana defense has been very good, but this Maryland offense runs through Felton. He'll get his touches.

Ja'Corey Brooks, Louisville (5.7K)

If the Cardinals are going to hang around in this game, Brooks needs to have another big game. His four receptions against Georgia Tech were a season-low, but he had a big 57-yard touchdown reception. He's going to have to get behind the Irish at least once for Louisville to have a chance at the upset.

Max Klare, Purdue ($3.9K)

Hudson Card only had 56 passing yards last week and 46 of those went to Klare. Purdue has almost no weapons in the passing game with Deion Burks gone. Klare has been the guy that Card looks to as he's running for his life. It's hard to rely on anyone in the Purdue offense, but in this price range, it's all about volume. Klare has that.

Jaquaize Pettaway, Oklahoma ($3.9K)

The Sooners will be without Deion Burks, Jalil Farooq, Nic Anderson, Andrel Anthony, and Jayden Gibson. Do you know why that doesn't bother me? Michael Hawkins Jr. is going to start this game and he has been throwing to Pettaway in practice for months. Their rapport was apparent at the end of the Tennessee game. Pettaway could have a monster game and he's practically free.

Also consider: Tre Harris, Mississippi ($9.1K); Jack Bech, TCU ($7.2K); LaJohntay Wester, Colorado ($5.9K); Luke Grimm, Kansas ($5.2K); Miles Cross, Indiana ($4K); Ryan Wingo, Texas ($3.7K)

DraftKings CFB Stacks

Colorado

This is a tough stack to pull off. Running Sanders with Hunter and Wester only leaves you at about $4.9K per slot. There is enough value at receiver to get you a cheap QB (Raiola), but then you have to gamble on running backs. I don't mind this in a large-field GPP, but you can't do this in cash games.

Nebraska

This is based on cost and Purdue's atrocious run defense. Dowdell is a staple in every single one of my lineups. I like the price of Raiola. Rahmir Johnson is the other Nebraska back that you want. Gabe Ervin Jr. and Emmett Johnson didn't get a carry against Illinois. Jahmal Banks and Isaiah Neyor are also cheap if you want to throw a receiver in there.

Also consider: Indiana, Central Florida, Oklahoma
