DraftKings Evening CFB DFS Lineup Picks: Daily College Fantasy Football (9/28/24)

Nicholas Singleton - Fantasy Football Rankings, College FB, NFL Draft Sleepers

Mike's DraftKings daily fantasy college football lineup picks for Saturday's Evening Slate (9/28/24). His CFB DFS lineup picks and DFS sleepers will help you win.

Get a load of this prime-time slate, will ya? We've got some big slate (eight games) and some big games (Alabama-Georgia, anyone?) making this one of the most exciting slates we've had in a while. We begin in Houston with the Cyclones in town. Stanford learns just how big the ACC is when they head to Clemson.

Next up is the undercard to Alabama-Georgia with the Illini in State College. Ohio State travels to East Lansing to force some turnovers. South Alabama heads over to Red Stick for a night game in the real Death Valley. Cincinnati heads to Lubbock. We end in Dallas with Florida State taking on SMU.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy college football lineup picks for DraftKings on 9/28/24, locking at 7 p.m. EDT. I’ll provide multiple player suggestions for players at quarterback, running back, and wide receiver, aiming to highlight one option at the high, middle, and lower end of the salary scale. Good luck, RotoBallers.

DraftKings CFB DFS Picks - Quarterbacks

Cade Klubnik, Clemson ($8.2K)

Klubnik was held in check by Georgia, but he has exploded in the last two games. This Stanford defense isn't much better than the NC State team that Klubnik gouged last week. His rushing ability sets him apart from the rest of the quarterbacks in this tier. The three rushing touchdowns don't hurt either.

Brendan Sorsby, Cincinnati ($7.1K)

Sorsby was the model of efficiency last week. He completed 12 of 15 passes for 188 yards and a pair of touchdowns. The Bearcats have seen Sorsby put up big numbers and have used him as a game manager. This game should stay close, so I'm hoping to see Sorsby back to his output of the first two weeks in closer games.

Rocco Becht, Iowa State ($6.3K)

Becht hasn't put up big numbers this year, but he hasn't needed to either. He likely won't need to here, but he has two touchdown passes and over 200 passing yards in each of the first three games. He has a strong floor for a value play.

Also consider: Jalen Milroe, Alabama ($9.1K); Garrett Nussmeier, LSU ($7.9K); Gio Lopez, South Alabama ($7.5K); D.J. Uiagalelei, Florida State ($5.5K)

DraftKings CFB DFS Picks - Running Backs

Tahj Brooks, Texas Tech ($8K)

The key to any good run-and-shoot offense is a shifty running back who can catch passes. That's Brooks. He has at least 100 rushing yards in all three games this season. Mike Leach's version of the run-and-shoot (called the air raid) makes little use of running backs as runners out of the backfield. Tech's offense takes the more old-school approach. That means big stats for Brooks.

Fluff Bothwell, South Alabama ($5.5K)

This play is dead in the water if the Jags get down early. The freshman turned heads with 70 yards against Ohio on just 10 carries. He has 259 rushing yards on just 21 carries over the last two games with four touchdowns. He won't be as explosive against an SEC defense, but I think Bothwell can pay off this price.

Abu Sama III, Iowa State ($4.8K)

The Cyclones faced stout run defenses in North Dakota and Iowa to open the season. They chose not to waste Sama running into brick walls. The Cyclones dominated Arkansas State from the kickoff, so most starters didn't play in the second half. We all know what Sama is capable of. This may finally be the week he gets more carries. If he does, he is way too cheap.

Also consider: Quinshon Judkins, Ohio State ($7.2K); Brashard Smith, SMU ($6.5K); Corey Kiner, Cincinnati ($6K); Caden Durham, LSU ($3.9K)

DraftKings CFB DFS Picks - Wide Receivers

Kyren Lacy, LSU ($7.9K)

UCLA held Lacy scoreless last week for the first time this season. He gets to burst back on the scene against a South Alabama team that is allowing nearly 13 yards per reception on the season. Ouch! Expect Lacy to get back on the radar in a big way.

Josh Kelly, Texas Tech ($6.6K)

Kelly has established himself as the alpha receiver in Lubbock. He has at least 10 receptions in two of the four games, reaching nine in a third game. He will be heavily involved in the offense once again against a solid Cincinnati team.

Elic Ayomanor, Stanford ($6.3K)

Stanford may not have a very good team, but they have some good players. Ayomanor has had two big games in the two competitive games that the Cardinal have played. He was targeted 15 times against the Orange in the Loud House. He could approach that figure again with Stanford expected to be playing from behind again.

Tyler Warren, Penn State ($5.2K)

Warren has double the receptions of any of his teammates so far. Even though Drew Allar doesn't need the tight end anymore, he still wants to throw to him. Come for the receptions (16). Stay for the touchdown potential.

Also consider: Xzavier Henderson, Cincinnati ($7.3K); Pat Bryant, Illinois ($6.4K); Jaylin Noel, Iowa State ($5.7K); Ismail Cisse, Stanford ($5K); Bryant Wesco Jr., Clemson ($4K)

DraftKings CFB Stacks

Clemson

This offense is producing big numbers right now and it all starts with Cade Klubnik. Stanford's run defense is a strength, but Phil Mafah is still good enough to use against them. Jake Briningstool is a target hog, but true freshman Bryant Wesco Jr. is an explosion waiting to happen at $4K.

LSU

I will have more than one lineup anchored by Nussemeier/Lacy/Durham. The good news is that Durham is cheap enough that it won't hurt the potential of the rest of your lineups.

Also consider: Iowa State, South Texas Tech
