DraftKings CFB DFS Lineup Picks: Daily Fantasy College Football (10/9/21 Late Night)

Mike Marteny's DraftKings daily fantasy college football lineup picks for the late night slate on 10/9/21. His CFB DFS lineup picks and DFS sleepers will help you win big.

Did you think our college football DFS coverage was done for the day? Just because most of the world goes to bed before the late night slate doesn't mean that I do! College football addicts and DFS degenerates unite! It's not over until we say it is!

These late night tournaments on DraftKings have been outstanding this year so tonight is a huge letdown with only two games. UCLA heads over to Tucson to beat on Arizona. The nightcap is New Mexico State heading up to Reno to take on Nevada. Using the right players in a losing effort will likely decide this slate.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy college football lineup picks for DraftKings that locks at 10:30pm eastern on 10/9/21. I’ll be providing multiple player suggestions for players at guard and forward, aiming to highlight one option apiece at the high, middle, and lower end of the salary scale. Good luck, RotoBallers.

DraftKings CFB DFS Quarterbacks

Dorian Thompson-Robinson, UCLA ($7,000)

It's a two-game slate, so I'm taking the guy with the highest ceiling. That's DTR with his rushing ability. UCLA has plenty of backs so I am a little concerned that they might save the wear and tear on Thompson-Robinson and just use the backs. Still, in the event that they don't, DTR has the highest ceiling on a limited slate. That could be the difference in a GPP.

Jonah Johnson, New Mexico State ($5,300)

Johnson has thrown for 580 yards over the last two games, games in which the Aggies were playing from behind. They will be again here, so I expect to see a high number of pass attempts out of Johnson again. He'll throw an interception or two, but the touchdowns and yards should make up for it. Besides, he's only $5,300 and he has 48.1 DraftKings points over the last two games. He'll outscore everyone else in this price range.

Also consider: Carson Strong, Nevada ($8,800); Jordan McCloud, Arizona ($5,700)

DraftKings CFB DFS Running Backs

Toa Taua, Nevada ($6,600)

The fact that Taua is more than Charbonnet is just nuts, but we have plenty of value to afford both. Taua ran roughshod over Boise and caught seven passes, a feat that isn't likely to be duplicated here. Nevada wont need to ride Taua as much and they likely wont. That said, he should still get enough points for us to be satisfied in this price range.

Zach Charbonnet, UCLA ($5,100)

Brittain Brown is the more explosive back, but there's no reason for him to be priced higher than Charbonnet. Charbonnet has 45 carries over the last two games and gets the tough yards that Brown doesn't. I like both UCLA backs here as the Bruins are likely to get a sizeable lead and just run the clock out. The game script favors the UCLA backs. Charbonnet at this price is highway robbery.

Michael Wiley, Arizona ($4,200)

There is concern that Arizona gets behind and just gets buried, but Wiley did catch six passes against BYU in the opener. Arizona is just throwing anything at the wall to see what sticks, which is a dangerous thing when it comes to DFS. However, Wiley still picked up 15 carries in the blowout loss to Oregon. He should get enough touches to be interesting at this price due to his ability.

Also consider: Brittain Brown, UCLA ($5,800); O'Maury Samuels, New Mexico State ($4,500); Devonte Lee, Nevada ($4,000); Juwaun Price, New Mexico State ($3,900)

DraftKings CFB DFS Wide Receivers

Romeo Doubs, Nevada ($8,200)

I'm not huge on Strong because I think Nevada may run a lot here, but I am high on Doubs. He has 31 targets in four games, but only has one touchdown so far. Price isn't really a deterrent on this slate and Doubs still has the highest upside. That alone is enough to use him here. However, I do think there is higher upside elsewhere if you want to throw a dart in a GPP.

Kyle Phillips, UCLA ($6,800)

Phillips is by far the most favorite target of DTR. He has 18 receptions for 291 yards and six touchdowns over the last three games alone! At some point, UCLA is going to run off with this game. Given the propensity of Phillips to find the end zone though, I view him as a great option nonetheless.

Stanley Berryhill III, Arizona ($5,900)

If Berryhill had a reliable and consistent quarterback, he would be regarded in the same breath as Drake London. The guy catches everything! Berryhill has hauled in 31 passes in four games despite playing for an offense that struggles to move the ball. As you may expect, the touchdowns are also lacking. However, Arizona makes it a point to get Berryhill the ball any way they can. He had six carries to go with his five receptions against Oregon. He'll get a lot of touches for this price.

Boobie Curry, Arizona ($3,500)

Curry didn't play until the Northern Arizona game, but he seems to like having McCloud throwing the ball. Curry has seven receptions in the last two games for 104 yards and a pair of touchdowns. He doesn't have the volume of Berryhill, but he'll see a decent number of targets at a very low price.

Also consider: Cole Turner, Nevada ($5,200); Isaiah Garcia-Castaneda, New Mexico State ($5,300); Jared Wyatt, New Mexico State ($4,200); BJ Casteel, Arizona ($4,000)
