DraftKings CFB DFS Lineup Picks: Daily Fantasy College Football (10/2/21 Primetime)

breece hall NFL Draft fantasy football rankings rookies draft sleepers

Mike Marteny's DraftKings daily fantasy college football lineup picks for the prime time slate on 10/2/21. His CFB DFS lineup picks and DFS sleepers will help you win big.

We are back up to eight games for our Saturday prime time college football slate on DraftKings. Iowa State gets to feel good about themselves again when Kansas limps to town. Mississippi State leaves the cowbells of StarkVegas behind for the 12th Man in College Station. Baylor heads up to Stillwater to take on a Cowboys team that realized they had a workhorse in their stable the whole time. Liberty heads down to Birmingham in a marquee matchup outside of the Power Five.

A half-hour later, Boston College takes the show on the road to Clemson. Western Kentucky gets to try their hand in East Lansing. Northwestern heads to Lincoln and there's another White-out in State College as Indiana visits. We have some very nice options here, so let's get to it!

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy college football lineup primetime picks for DraftKings on 10/2/21, locking at 7 pm eastern. I’ll be providing multiple player suggestions for players at guard and forward, aiming to highlight one option apiece at the high, middle, and lower end of the salary scale. Good luck, RotoBallers.

DraftKings CFB DFS Quarterbacks

Malik Willis, Liberty ($9,000)

UAB has been outstanding in pass defense against anyone not named Georgia so far. So why use Willis? UAB has allowed an average of 160 rushing yards per game. Willis is the leading rusher for the Flames and he has thrown for over 200 yards in all but one game so far. With no slam-dunk available at quarterback on this slate, I'm going with the guy with the most upside. That has to be Willis due to his dual threat ability.

Will Rogers, Mississippi State ($7,600)

The low mark for pass attempts on the season is 47 against Louisiana Tech in the opener. He has thrown more than 60 passes in each of the last two games. This will be the toughest defense that Rogers has faced so far, but with as many short passes as the Bulldogs throw and as well as Rogers has protected the ball, this seems like a good play for the price. I'll take the volume at a discount, even against a defense that borders on elite.

Dylan Hopkins, UAB ($6,000)

With Tyler Johnstone out, Hopkins got his first start against Tulane and led the Blazers to victory. He threw for 240 yards and has six touchdowns over the last two games. Liberty held Syracuse to just 77 passing yards last week, but they only attempted 15 passes. Hopkins is the best quarterback that Liberty has faced so far this season. He should be in line for a good game, especially when you consider the savings.

Also consider: Adrian Martinez, Nebraska ($8,700); Bailey Zappe, Western Kentucky ($7,900); Jason Bean, Kansas ($5,000)

DraftKings CFB DFS Running Backs

Breece Hall, Iowa State ($9,500)

Normally I wouldn't touch this in a game that's expected to be a blowout, but Hall has scored at least one touchdown in 16 consecutive games. Kansas has allowed 16 rushing touchdowns and 241 yards per game over the four games. There's a great chance that Hall scores three or more touchdowns in this one considering the way that Iowa State's offense is constructed. Hall likely wont play in the second half, but he could put up huge numbers before he departs.

Kenneth Walker III, Michigan State ($8,000)

Walker is going to have a much easier time against the Hilltoppers than he did last weekend against Nebraska's suddenly stout defense. Western Kentucky has allowed 674 rushing yards and nine touchdowns on the ground in three games. Walker is the workhorse for the Spartans and they are going to try to run the ball effectively to keep it away from the potent Western Kentucky passing offense. Walker is going to get back on track here.

Jaylen Warren, Oklahoma State ($7,000)

The Baylor defense looks really good until you realize that they played Kansas, Texas Southern, and a team that lost to Incarnate Word (Texas State). Iowa State ran for 216 yards on the Bears. I'd say that's about what we can expect from Oklahoma State as well. The only difference is that Warren will get 90% or more of the team carries. Running back is absolutely loaded on this slate. Warren even caught four passes against Kansas State last week, further solidifying his DFS prowess. If you don't want to pay top dollar, Warren is going to put up really good numbers for his price range.

Rahmir Johnson, Nebraska ($4,100)

Nebraska's running back depth chart has been a dart board with about eight pictures on it. The coaches were just throwing darts in the early going, but Johnson has led the team in carries in each of the last two games after Gabe Ervin went down. He had tough sledding against Oklahoma and Michigan State. This game against Northwestern is where his hard work should pay off. He's a low-priced flier that could put up a very nice game if he leads Nebraska in carries again.

Also consider: Isaiah Spiller, Texas A&M ($6,700); Jo'quavious Marks, Mississippi State ($6,000); Jirehl Brock, Iowa State ($4,500); Phil Mafah, Clemson ($3,000)

DraftKings CFB DFS Wide Receivers

Tay Martin, Oklahoma State ($7,600)

Martin has hit triple digits in yards in the two games that he has played in. He's the guy that the Oklahoma State quarterbacks will look to when they throw the ball. Again, Baylor's defensive stats are skewed because they played three poor teams before the tilt against Iowa State. The Cyclones got plenty of yards on Baylor. We can expect Oklahoma State to be able to do the same. I do think that the Cowboys will run quite a bit, but Martin should still be in line for triple digits again.

Jahan Dotson, Penn State ($7,100)

Indiana's defense has had their share of problems this year. If the offense can finally get going and they keep this close, it will help Dotson's cause. I'll believe that when I see it. However, Dotson still has at least five receptions and a touchdown in every game so far. He may not have the ceiling of those in front of him, but his floor is about as good as it gets.

Samori Toure, Nebraska ($5,800)

The tough matchups have taken their toll on Toure's stat lines, but he's still the leading receiver for Nebraska. They should have a lot more room against a Northwestern defense that has really struggled so far. If you are going to run Martinez, I recommend using him with Toure as well.

Peyton Hendershot, Indiana ($4,200)

One of these weeks DraftKings will come around on Hendershot's pricing. It wont be this week either. With Ty Fryfogle drawing loads of attention and the line not giving Michael Penix the time he had last year, Hendershot has been a huge piece of the passing game. He has six receptions in each of the last two games and had three against Iowa. Hendershot is going to see a lot of work again for the Hoosiers against another tough defense. The Hoosiers have already played Iowa and Cincinnati and Hendershot was a factor in both of those games. He should be here as well.

Also consider: Jayden Reed, Michigan State ($8,200); Justyn Ross, Clemson ($6,500); Trea Shropshire, UAB ($5,000); Trevor Wilson, Kansas ($4,500)
