DraftKings CFB DFS Lineup Picks: Daily Fantasy College Football (10/2/21 Late Night)

Mike Marteny's DraftKings daily fantasy college football lineup picks for the late night slate on 10/2/21. His CFB DFS lineup picks and DFS sleepers will help you win big.

Did you think our college football DFS coverage was done for the day? Just because most of the world goes to bed before the late night slate doesn't mean that I do! College football addicts and DFS degenerates unite! We've got a nice four-game late night snack for you on DraftKings. It's not over until we say it is!

These late night tournaments on DraftKings have been outstanding this year so tonight is a little bit of a letdown. Just a little though. We still have Arizona State heading to the Rose Bowl. There's a lot of DFS goodness in that game. New Mexico State heads to San Jose to take on a struggling Spartans team. We finish it off with another ranked team in Fresno heading for the islands to take on Hawaii. Let's try and make enough to get us to Hawaii as well!

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy college football lineup picks for DraftKings that locks at 10:30pm eastern on 10/2/21. I’ll be providing multiple player suggestions for players at guard and forward, aiming to highlight one option apiece at the high, middle, and lower end of the salary scale. Good luck, RotoBallers.

DraftKings CFB DFS Quarterbacks

Jake Haener, Fresno State ($8,000)

Fresno's defensive woes actually help Haener, who has to throw to keep up with the points that the defense gives up. There is all kinds of NFL talent on this Fresno offense. On paper, Hawaii is severely overmatched, but weird things happen when teams go to the islands. Jet lag, maybe? Whatever the case, if this game stays close, that looks even better for Fresno. The Warriors haven't "held" any pass offenses. Portland State threw for 400 yards on them. UCLA and Oregon State could have if they wanted to. Fresno is more of a passing team, so I see a strong stat line for Haener.

Jayden Daniels, Arizona State ($7,000)

The Arizona State offense has not been as good as many predicted, and Daniels has shouldered a lot of the blame for that. He only has two passing touchdowns on the season to go with three interceptions. He has the arm. He has the talent. Now he has a defense that is allowing 330 passing yards per game. Some of that is Jake Haener's fault – he threw for 455 on the Bruins – but there is clearly a problem in the UCLA pass defense. Add in the rushing ability of Daniels, and we have the potential for a very nice game here.

Also consider: Dorian Thompson-Robinson, UCLA ($7,300); Chase Cordeiro, Hawaii ($6,300); Jonah Johnson, New Mexico State ($5,400)

DraftKings CFB DFS Running Backs

Calvin Turner Jr., Hawaii ($7,100)

Turner's run against New Mexico State last weekend blew up Twitter and reminded those of us who are old enough of Barry Sanders. However, it was New Mexico State. Fresno will provide a little more resistance. Still, Turner's role in the Hawaii offense assures him more touches than anyone but Cordeiro. Turner has at least four receptions and ten touches in every game sans the Portland State game. 56 receiving yards is his low mark on the season. That's a lot of free points!

Zach Charbonnet, UCLA ($5,800)

Brittain Brown is the more explosive back, but there's no reason for him to be priced higher than Charbonnet. Arizona State's run defense has been solid, but both Colorado and BYU went over triple digits. Colorado is understandable. They can't throw the ball to save their lives. UCLA is a more balanced attack, but Charbonnet is a huge piece of this offense. His 24 carries and five receptions against Stanford show the Bruins more willing to lean on him. They're going to need him against Arizona State. Charbonnet feels criminally underpriced here. Enjoy the savings!

Ronnie Rivers, Fresno State ($5,600)

Hawaii has allowed a lot of rushing yards too. Two teams have gone over 240 on them so far. Fresno wont duplicate that feat, but Rivers could find a lot of room on the ground to go with his standard four receptions per game. Haener gets all of the attention, but Rivers is a good back against a bad defense and is cheap enough to put in any lineup.

Also consider: Rachaad White, Arizona State ($8,300); Tyler Nevens, San Jose State ($6,100); Juwaun Price, New Mexico State ($4,300); Dae Dae Hunter, Hawaii ($3,900)

DraftKings CFB DFS Wide Receivers

Jalen Cropper, Fresno State ($7,700)

Cropper has topped 40 DraftKings points in each of the last two games. PLAY HIM! Cropper has ten touchdowns in just five games already!

Kyle Phillips, UCLA ($6,000)

Phillips is by far the most favorite target of DTR. He has 12 receptions for 233 yards and four touchdowns over the last two games alone! The Bruins should be tested again here against a solid Arizona State team. The balance of the UCLA offense so far is a good thing for Phillips. He doesn't have the floor or ceiling of Cropper, but no one does. That said, Phillips is the next best thing and this promises to be a close game. There is potential here.

Nick Mardner, Hawaii ($5,300)

Jared Smart has been taken out of games by opponents this year, which has opened the door for Mardner to have some big games. He has at least 15 DraftKings points in every game but the opener. 97 yards is the low mark among those four games and he has only been kept out of the end zone once. That's a lot of points for a guy priced in this range.

LV Bunkley-Shelton, Arizona State ($3,000)

The freshman is slowly working his way into a more prominent role in the offense. So......Bunkley-Shelton goes for four receptions and 76 yards against the Ralphies and DraftKings responds by dropping him to minimum price? Thanks! That's really all I can say. DraftKings dropped the ball here. It's up to us to pick it up.

Also consider: Josh Kelly, Fresno State ($6,200); Johnny Wilson, Arizona State ($5,100); Keric Wheatfall, Fresno State ($5,000); Jermaine Braddock, San Jose State ($4,400)
