DraftKings CBB DFS Lineup Picks for 3/14/21 - Daily Fantasy College Basketball Advice

CBB DFS lineup picks DraftKings NCAA daily college fantasy basketball

Mike Marteny offers his DraftKings daily fantasy college basketball sleepers for 3/14/21. His CBB DFS lineup picks and sleepers will help you win on DraftKings.

All of the chaos of the week has culminated in this. A wild four-game DraftKings slate with automatic tickets punched for the SEC, Big Ten(14), the Atlantic 10, and AAC. The A-10 loser has an outside shot at a bid, but it's do or die for Cincinnati. Do they have one more miracle left in them? Alabama and Houston have outside shots at a number one seed. Illinois clinches one with a win. Ohio State makes a case if they win.

The VCU-St. Bonaventure tilt only has a total of 128. Cincinnati and Houston isn't much better at 136.5. Ohio State and Illinois is all the way up there at 150.5. We already know what to expect from the third installment of Alabama-LSU. The total sits at 158. In the first game these guys ran for 180 points. The second meeting in Tuscaloosa was a bit more tame with only 138 points. It is worth noting that the Tide won these two games by a combined total of 48 points.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy college basketball lineup picks for DraftKings on 3/14/21. I’ll be providing multiple player suggestions for players at guard and forward, aiming to highlight one option apiece at the high, middle, and lower end of the salary scale. Good luck, RotoBallers.

DraftKings CBB DFS Guards

Quentin Grimes, Houston ($8,000)

Grimes willed the Cougars to a win last night, putting up 43 DraftKings points. The ceiling is high for Grimes. We've seen him flirt with 50 DraftKings points a couple of times. Considering he put up 39 against Cincinnati in their only meeting this year in just 26 minutes, I would say another 40-spot is likely for Grimes. The usage was a lot higher for him that DeJon Jarreau last night. Expect the Cougars to lean on Grimes again.

Cameron Thomas, LSU ($7,600)

Thomas has been marginally less effective against the Tide. That still doesn't mean that he's had bad games against them. Thomas had some jitters against Ole Miss and didn't shoot all that well against Arkansas, but he hit the shots when they counted. Thomas has a nice ceiling if LSU can manage to keep the game close this time around. That said, the Tide looked really good yesterday. For the price, you may want to ride Duane Washington for the same price since the rest of his team has in the conference tournament.

John Petty, Alabama ($6,300)

Herbert Jones carried the Tide to a win yesterday, but it has been John Petty who was better in both games against LSU this year. You know the story with the Tide. The bench pieces play a lot of minutes, especially against a team like LSU, and they are priced much lower than the starters. In the first two meetings against these teams this year, I used primarily low-price bench options on the Alabama side. I'll stick to that again, but Petty being the best starter against them twice isn't a fluke. He doesn't have a ton of upside, but he's one of the few Alabama players that I could see hitting 30 and he's the cheapest among them.

Keon Ellis, Alabama ($4,700)

Ellis drew the start yesterday in place of Josh Primo and put up better numbers than Primo did most of the season. If Ellis starts again, he's a lock at this price. However, they are two different players. Herbert Jones had the ball in his hands more, hence the massive price hike on DraftKings. I wouldn't pay that for Jones even if Primo is out, but Ellis being more of a scorer than Primo is a hit to the value of guys like Jaden Shackleford and Jahvon Quinerly. Keep an eye on the status of Ellis. It changes Alabama's style more than you may think. Primo is the best distributor they have.

Also consider: Duane Washington, Ohio State ($7,500); Jalen Adaway, St. Bonaventure ($6,000); Andre Curbelo, Illinois ($5,400); David DeJulius, Cincinnati ($4,200)

DraftKings CBB DFS Forwards

Osun Osunniyi, St. Bonaventure ($8,300)

The Buckeyes locked down Kofi Cockburn in both meetings this year, so I'm turning my attention to Osunniti. The Rams didn't have much of an answer for Osunniyi in either meeting this year. He began March with 101.25 DraftKings points in the first two games of the month. He was well on the way to topping 40 again against St. Louis in the conference semifinals when the game got so far out of hand that Osunniyi only played 29 minutes. He played all but three minutes in the two games against VCU this year. I fully expect him to flirt with 40 DraftKings points today.

E.J. Liddell, Ohio State ($7,700)

I suggest running Duane Washington alongside Liddell. those two are carrying the Buckeyes through the conference tournament and have been a hell of a lot of fun to watch. Liddell has the better track record against Illinois this season, so I suppose you could run him naked. I just like the way he and Washington are playing together right now. This just feels like a game Ohio State is going to win. If they do, Liddell will be a huge part of the reason why.

Tari Eason, Cincinnati ($6,100)

Keep a close eye on the health of Keith Williams here. The senior didn't play in the second half of last night's upset of Wichita State for an undisclosed reason. Williams was on the bench with a towel over his head, but that could mean anything. If it comes out that Williams can't go, Eason is a lock at this price. He racked up 34.25 DraftKings points last night in just 28 minutes. Imagine what he could do if he starts!

Josh LeBlanc, LSU ($3,700)

LeBlanc is a bit of a unicorn in the college game. He only plays about 15-18 minutes per game, but he has double digit DraftKings points in every SEC game with the exception of the two games against Ole Miss. Not many teams match up well with Mississippi. That can be forgiven. LeBlanc does a lot in his little bit of court time. He's a very good rebounder and efficient shooter. That's DFS gold when you are relying on a value play that gets a limited amount of minutes.

Also consider: Trendon Watford, LSU ($7,800); Jaren Holmes, St. Bonaventure ($5,900); Justice Sueing, Ohio State ($5,600); Alex Reese, Alabama ($4,200)
