BALLER MOVE: Start in 10+ Team Leagues
POSITIONAL VALUE: WR1
ANALYSIS: New Orleans Saints wide receiver Chris Olave had high expectations this year after an impressive rookie season. The second-year star is the WR24, averaging 11.2 half-point PPR fantasy points per game. He has struggled to connect with Derek Carr at times. Yet, the talented wide receiver still has 56 receptions on 94 targets for 657 receiving yards and three touchdowns in 2023.
The Saints had their bye in Week 11, coming at the perfect time for an injured Carr. Meanwhile, Olave had an impressive performance in the team’s Week 10 loss to the Minnesota Vikings, totaling six receptions on nine targets for 94 receiving yards and a highlight reel touchdown, scoring a season-high 18.4 fantasy points.
Unfortunately, the former Ohio State star has an unfriendly fantasy football matchup this weekend. The Atlanta Falcons have held wide receivers to 24.6 fantasy points per game, the 10th-fewest in the NFL this season. Furthermore, the Falcons have held wide receivers without a touchdown in nearly half of their matchups in 2023.
Despite the less-than-ideal matchup, fantasy players should still start Olave in Week 12. New Orleans won’t have Michael Thomas for this matchup, creating more targets for the second-year star.
