BALLER MOVE: Add in 2QB Team Leagues
ROSTERED IN: 37% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: We're still stuck in the middle of the Bye-week portion of the season. While it is true that we're entering Week 10 and that not a single quarterback staying off the schedule is that great, if you're playing the QB-streaming game there are chances you had one of the CHI/CIN/HOU/NYG quarterbacks in your roster this past weekend. Not this upcoming weekend. But chances are our boy Baker Mayfield is sitting cold in your WW, so he looks very good to take on those streaming duties--let alone a perennial starting position for those doing it in 2QB formats.
Mayfield, if you know anything about him and the Cleveland Browns by extension, is now having to throw the rock to folks not named Odell Beckham Jr. Not that it changes things a lot, though. Odell was a bit of a target hog through the season, getting 3+ in five of his six games played and a higher 6+ in four of those five. But the production was so bad (four games of his six not even reaching 30 receiving yards) that he wasn't helping Mayfield at all. Even then, Mayfield has done enough to be on a 14+ FPPG average with top-24 finishes among quarterbacks in five of the eight games he's started in 2021.
Baker's worst finish (arguably two-worst finishes) saw him go for 9.3 FP (9.5 in the other one) while finishing QB31. That's no bueno, of course, but he still was good to avoid getting picked off. Anyway, for what interests us here, Mayfield has thrown for 213+ yards in all but one game and has broken the 300-yard mark twice (not since W5, though) and he has scored 7 TDs against just 1 INT in the past six games he's started. The FP don't fluctuate that much (he has a standard deviation of just 4 FP on the full season), and the average 14 FPPG is actually very solid on a weekly basis. That also means he just has one explosion for more than 18 FP (22.0) in Week 5, but hey, we're talking about a streaming/2QB option here so it's not that we can't complain about the low-but-steady outcomes.
