BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues
ROSTERED IN: 7% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: According to New Orleans Saints head coach Dennis Allen, the franchise coaches "don't think they'll go there right now" when it comes to benching veteran QB Andy Dalton to bring Jameis Winston back. Not for now, at least. But that's enough for us fantasy GMs to ride the Red Rifle wave while it lasts.
Dalton has not been otherworldly starting this season, mind you, but he should be a must-roster in deeper leagues and a must-start in all sorts of 2QB/Superflex formats.
The veteran is coming off a bye week this past weekend and although he's struggled a bit of late, his first half of the season was quite good. From Week 4 to Week 9 Dalton finished inside the top-24 fantasy-QB ranks weekly. He had a 29.5 FP explosion (top-2) and two more games of at least 13.7 FP.
More recently, Dalton has had three games with varying results: he scored 22.2 FP in W11, then only 10.3 one week later, and a top-20 13.3 FP in his most recent game a couple of weeks ago at Tampa Bay.
Dalton has completed 18+ passes in each of his last three games while throwing four total touchdowns against no interceptions/fumbles in those three last outings. He reached 204+ yards every time. Again, nothing incredible but at least viable for those managing in deeper formats.
