Allen Lazard is a fantasy football waiver wire pickup option for wide receivers. Target him as a free agent add off waivers for Week 8 of the 2021 NFL season.

ANALYSIS: The same week in which Marquez Valdes-Scantling played his last game before getting banged up and missing four straight was the week in which Allen Lazard made his 2021 debut. That happened back in Week 3, and the truth is that Lazard didn't get to do a lot in that game nor the following two, putting up a measly trio of 5.2, 5.3, and 2.6 PPR tallies and not catching more than two passes in any of those three games.
But Lazard seems to be getting things right of late and that might cause a little bit of a headache for the men calling the shots in Green Bay once MVS is back. He is eligible to play next week, but that will come in short notice with the Packers playing this Thursday in a short week, so odds are MVS misses this week's match.
Lazard, by the way, is coming off his best game of the year after dropping 17.0 PPR points on Washington last Sunday to the tune of 5 receptions, 6 targets, 60 yards receiving, and a touchdown. All of those marks are season highs for Lazard, who has scored a TD in back-to-back games through the past two weeks while finishing WR33 and WR14 in those slates. Lazard's snap rate has gone up steadily every passing week and reached a 91% this past weekend. If only for another game, Lazard should retain his WR2 role/upside in Green Bay, which makes him a more than viable play for those in deeper formats and a streaming option for those needing help at the position (byes, remember!) while competing in shallower formats.
